New Jersey Militia
P.O. Box 10176, Trenton, NJ 08650

Background

Militias played a vital role in the founding of our country. In fact they date from the earliest days. During New Jersey's colonial period males from sixteen to sixty were required to possess arms and to drill two days a year. During the Revolution the whole body of the people -- farmers, mechanics, merchants, tradesmen and Molly Pitcher - picked up their muskets and fought against tyranny. Historian Leonard Lundin acknowledges the militia's role in the American victory at the crucial battle of Trenton during the darkest days of the struggle: "Among the many factors which entered into Washington's victory of December 26 [1776] not the least important was the constant harrying tactics of the militia and irregulars, which succeeded in unnerving [Hessian commander] Rall's soldiers." Many Revolutionary war and War of 1812 battles were fought by the militia alone, the battle of New Orleans being one. The Militia is so important to the preservation of our freedom that the people agreed to ratify the Constitution only on condition that it be amended to include the right to keep and bear arms, among other rights.

The present day Militia finds it necessary to engage itself in education for the reasons mentioned above. Great numbers of Americans do not yet realize that their power has been usurped by a renegade government. The usurpation has been so insidious over the past few generations that the state of freedom that made America the greatest nation on earth is but a dim memory. People seem to believe that if they are permitted to keep most of their earnings, or are granted a license to drive upon the roads, or do business, or get a permit to demonstrate peacefully, they are free. But direct taxation of individuals and the requirement to get permission to engage in lawful activity is NOT the original brand of American freedom!

The parameters of lawful government are described in the Constitution of the United States and the Constitutions of the various states. Many statutes (legislative laws) are in conflict with these constitutions -- the United States Constitution in particular -- and thus the people's liberties have been eroded. To understand the truth of this statement it is necessary to first understand what lawful government is, which is why if you contact us we will send you a booklet containing the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, with to begin your study.

For example Article IV, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution guarantees a republican form of government to every state. But all across the land, abetted by an ignorant or duplicitous media, our form of government is referred to as a democracy. A democracy had been decidedly ruled out by the country's founders because it could lead to tyranny of the majority to the detriment of the rights of the minority.

Another provision of the law, Article I, Section 10, limits the individual States to (among other things) make nothing but gold and silver a tender in payment of debts. The abrogation of this law would be a sore point with all Americans if they understood the suffering and national decay that occurs when a country's money is debauched. The question is, why are our life savings being destroyed by inflation?

Every single Right listed in our Bill of Rights (the first ten amendments of the U.S. Constitution) has been abrogated, save the First Amendment, and even that is on shaky ground. The media does not speak all of the truth, yet the First Amendment guarantees freedom of speech, freedom of the press etc. - freedoms that the militias exercise fully.

The Militias have been slandered as wishing to overthrow the government. Actually this is probably the first time in human history that a people want to change their government peacefully, not by replacing it with some other form of government, but by having it adhere to the law that originally established it.

Purpose and goals

The purpose of the New Jersey Militia is to restore lawful government to the United States and to the State of New Jersey. We believe that when our governments are once again bound down by the chains of the Constitution, Liberty and Prosperity -- our State motto -- will flourish for all Americans of whatever race or creed.

Our goalsi are to educate people in

Also, we seek to

Specifically we have attempted to allay the fears of law enforcement by requesting open dialogue. Pretty much ignored, except in police intelligence files, we have attempted to preclude any confrontation by informing the Sheriffs in all twenty-one counties about the hateful lies being told about the militia.ii We have urged that the only elected peace officer in the Union, the Sheriff, be restored to his proper role as defender of the people against the tyrannical and remorseless depredations of the federal police, iii or whatever other foe may appear.iv

On the other hand we have peacefully stood up to the police when necessary. In Union County, for example, we distributed handbillsv to every police station requesting that police officers uphold their sworn oath and refuse to enforce the assault rifle ban--in the teeth of the county prosecutor's unlawful call for "vigorous enforcement". For the Almighty's view of the police officer's role we have distributed a commentary on 1 Kings 1:1-15.vi

In an effort to stop the looting of the American people by the civil asset forfeiture statutes we have testified in Trenton.vii Nationally we attended the Third Continental Congress.

Internationally the United Nations seeks to control the entire world and every square inch thereof. We have informed military personnel of their sworn dutyviii and warned the American people of the grave danger they are in.ix,x

In the beginning of change the patriot is a scarce man; brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, however, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot. -- Mark Twain
