WORST GUN CONTROL BILL EVER
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) has introduced a bill that would require that all legal gun owners in America be licensed, fingerprinted, tested, phoroeraplied and forced to sign safety contracts with the federal government.
"When you want to hunt, you get a hunting license; when you want to drive, you gel a driver's license," Feinstein said. But, "when it comes to guns and gun owners, there's no license and no registration. ... The time has come to treat gun owners no differently than anyone who seeks to drive a car." Accompanying Feinstein at her Capitol Hill news conference were other gun-owner-conlrol advocates.
If it becomes "law", all American citizens who wish to purchase a firearm would have to pass a federal firearms use test and submit to fingerprinting and photographing by the federal government, among other measures.
Current gun owners would have 10 years to become federally licensed or face the consequences, possibly from ham fisted federal police agencies like the Bureau of Alcohol. Tobacco and Firearms (BATF), the agency responsible for the debacle at Waco, TX where dozens of men. women and children died: and the FBI. one of whose "Hostage Rescue Team" snipers shot Vickie Weaver through the head at Ruby Ridge. New gun purchases would be affected immediately.
The bill, called The Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act. is the latest and most aggressive gun-owner-control measure to be authored by Feinslein. herself a possessor of a concealed firearms permit, who in 1994 won passage of a ban on numerous gun features. In the Republican-controlled Congress, where centrist and rural Democrats share skepticism about imposing loo many additional gun restrictions, its short-term fate can be judged by examining other gun legislation.
"Anybody who understands the political situation in this country knows this bill isn't going to go anywhere." National Rifle Association spokesman Jim Manown said. "The only thing it will accomplish is to get Senator Feinstein publicity."
The Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act. is cosponsored by Senators Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ), Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Charles Schumer (D-NY). Rep. Mary Meehan. (D-Mass) is introducing the same bill in the House of Representatives. Supporters of the bill include Donna Dees-Thomases, founder of the "Million Mom March"; Charles Ramsey, Washington, DC Chief of Police; and Michael Barnes, President of Handgun Control, Inc.

CANADA'S MASSIVE CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE
"Slow gun registration panicking Ottawa"
It seems that Ottawa has realized, way too late, that it may be facing massive civil disobedience over firearms registration. Canada and the United States learned sad lessons about bad laws during Prohibition. Is Ottawa worried about the same sort of situation with firearms? Is that what the panic's about?
Bruce Hutton, a former Mountie from Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, heads the Law-Abiding Firearms Association (LUFA), which he says has 16,000 members across Canada.
Two LUFA meetings in Ontario that I'm aware of drew about 400 gun owners, many willing to sign up at $20 a head. There were about 300 at a Sudbury meeting and about 100 in Apsley, north of Peterborough. Hutton and LUFA say, in a published plan, that they are advocating non-registration, non- compliance and civil disobedience.
"When the first member of LUFA is arrested or charged, we will appoint his legal counsel. Then 10 or 20 or 30,000 of us will go into RCMP detachments across this country and tell them we have unregistered firearms without a license," LUFA's website (www.Iufa.ca) says. "This is an indictable offence so they will have to investigate. The RCMP doesn't have the manpower to handle it and the court system is already plugged. They will not be able to handle the load. We will also ask for legal aid, as we are not financially
capable of paying our lawyers' fees. We can tie the courts up forever."
Yes, indeed, there's a whiff of panic in the air around the Department of Justice and the Canadian Firearms Centre. —Gary Ball, Peterborough Examiner, Apr. 30. 2000

COPS RAID TOY STORE FOR FAKE GUNS
By Scanius McGraw
MISSISSAUGUA, Ontario - Peel Regional Police say they weren't playing games Tuesday when they raided a toy store in the western suburbs of Toronto and carted off more than 3,000 realistic-looking handguns.
"We did this in the interest of public safety," said Detective Sgt. Gordon MacKinnon, one day after investigators confiscated dozens of cardboard boxes crammed with black plastic toy pistols modeled after Berettas Sig Sauers and Glocks. So far, no charges have been filed in connection with the raid, and it was unclear whether any would be.
"It's a gray area," MacKinnon said. Toy Guns Crushed as Symbol of Violence
Although Canadian law prohibits the sale of replica firearms, the law so far has only been applied to fakes fashioned from wood or plastic, and the raid Tuesday marks the first time that children's toy guns have been confiscated, MacKinnon said.
Prosecutors from the Crown Attorney's Office and Peel Regional Police officials are trying to determine whether the law can be applied to the toy guns seized Tuesday.
Despite the legal ambiguities. MacKinnon said he has no doubt that the plastic toy guns represent a threat to public safety. Since November, there have been 27 crimes committed in western Toronto suburbs with fake firearms, he said.
"What put [police] on to this is ... an incident several weeks ago," MacKinnon said. investigators traced the toy guns used in that incident to a nearby toy store, and then got a search warrant to raid the shop.
Inside- they found boxes upon boxes of the guns, fabricated in China with such attention to detail that they even carry the trademarks of real gun manufacturers, he said.
"You've got some trademark concerns here, loo," MacKinnon said. "We've been in touch with all the major firearms manufacturers whose guns have been involved in it, and they 're very interested."
"Someday a policeman's going to draw down on a kid with one of these things and shoot him justifiably because, how do you know?" MacKinnon said. "You can't wait for the thing to go bang. "

AN OPEN LETTER TO OUR AMERICAN FRIENDS
Believe it or not, the Government of Canada is working to overturn the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. No wav. you say. Well. read on-The Government of Canada passed Bill C-68 to register all firearms in Canada by the year 2003. These include rifles or shotguns Americans bring into Canada for a hunting or shooting visit. Canadian officials will give the American BATF copies of all American guns registered by make, model, owner and address. As well, the BATF will receive copies of all Canadian gun registrations. Of course, the BATF is not permitted, by law. to make such lists, but they are allowed to keep those submitted by others- (Check your state government to see if they supply the BATF with data too: many do.)
SWITZERLAND BEGINNING TO FEEL THE GUN GRAB
[Note: Below is a letter from a Swiss
man to an American friend regarding a push for gun control. Switzerland? Gun control?]
*****
We loo have a fight on our hands to save the shooters rights in Switzerland. 1 am a member of Pro Tell, which is the Swiss equivalent of the Gun Owners of America (before 1 would have said the NRA but 1 believe they have lost their leadership). Pro Tell has about 8000 members and we lobby vigorously to stop the efforts of the powerful left wine elements of our national government from taking us down the path of the rest of Europe, where private sun ownership is concerned- Like the GOA we are obliged to be extremely vigilant and are working hard-
Since about two years all the cantons must now abide by uniform federal laws concerning the sale. distribution- purchase and earning of personal firearms and ammo etc.
Whereas before you could go to an unrestricted canton like Fribourg or Bern and buy any semi-automatic pistol or rifle freely, you now no longer have this option. All cantons have the same restrictions presently. and cantonal guns laws have been usurped by the federal laws. Nevertheless we do not have the 20,000 various laws you have in the LISA.
There are presently around 30 new federal law's that affect guns in Switzerland but no government has ever passed up the luxury of adding new ones, and that is what Pro Tell is fighting against. 1 would just like to say that I think it is a mistake in America for pro gun lobby organizations to push the government to enforce the existing laws rather than add new ones. I do not mean to imply that GOA should not fight new gun laws, I merely think that if the US governments, state and federal, did actually say "okay, from now on we will strenuously enforce every gun law", then, with 20,000 laws on the books there is the strong possibility that all those laws combined would essentially eliminate private gun ownership.
In essence all it takes is one law to destroy the ability to freely exercise a God given right. The only thing presently preventing that one law from being enacted is the US constitution. If the 2nd amendment was repealed then your congress could write a simple law e.g." all private ownership of any firearm is hereby prohibited"...or something to that effect. My point being that since "they" have not been able to write one law because of the constitution, they have written 20,000 law's that may, when finally enforced, have the same fatal affect on private gun ownership. I think it would be an interesting exercise to actually collect each and every gun law in the US and have principled legal experts go through them one by one and then report what would be the actual consequences of active enforcement.
I hope you'll excuse this overly long e-mail as I'm sure you arc busy enough with your present activities without reading my shaky theories. A final note; we watch what you do very carefully here in Switzerland. Pro Tell knows thai if the 2nd amendment, i.e. private gun ownership, is demolished in America then it will be only a matter of time before the same thing happens here...as America goes so does the free world (even though Europeans hate to admit it).
Bon courage,

SECOND AMENDMENT DAY
By The Honorable Dirk Kempthome Governor of the State of Idaho
May 13.2000 WHEREAS. Idaho recognizes the Bill of Rights of the Constitution of the United States as individual rights granted to all citizens of the United States; and
WHEREAS. Idaho recognizes the right of all citizens residing in Idaho the right to keep and bear arms as granted in the Second
Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, and Article 1. Section 11 of the Constitution of the State ot Idaho: and WHEREAS, the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States is a guarantor of all individual rights without which other individual rights are jeopardized;
NOW, THEREFORE, 1, DIRK KEMPTHORNE, Governor of the State of Idaho, do hereby proclaim May 1-1. 2000, to be SECOND AMENDMENT DAY
Note: do any of you sharp-eyed readers see anything mistaken about Gov. Kempthome's proclamation? How about the assertion that the Bill of Rights grants rights to all citizens? Can you imagine Patrick Henry's or Sam Adams' reaction? Our rights come not by government grant but from Nature's God-as Jefferson put it. Our rights pre-date both the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. The Bill of Rights is legal notice to government to keep hands off. - Ed.
SOUTHWEST WILL SECEDE FROM U.S., PROFESSOR PREDICTS
By Frank Zorelich
Charles Truxillo, a professor ofChicano studies at the University of New Mexico. suggests "Republica del Norte" would be a good name for a new. sovereign Hispanic nation he foresees straddling the current border between the United Slates and Mexico. The Republic of the North — he predicts its creation as "an inevitability" — would include all of the present U.S. states of California. Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, plus southern Colorado.
Stretching from the Pacific to the Gulf of Mexico, it would also include the northern tier of current Mexican states: Baja California. Sonora, Chihuahua, Coahuila. Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas. The capital would probably be Los Angeles-
Truxillo- 47, has said the new country should be brought into being "by any means necessary."
But in a recent interview at a coffee shop near the UNM campus- Truxillo said it was "unlikely" civil war would attend its birth. Instead, he said, the creation of the Republic of the North will be accomplished by political process, by the "electoral pressure" of the future majority Hispanic population throughout the region rather than by violence.
"Not within the next 20 years hut within 80 years," he said. "I may not live to see the Hispanic homeland, but by the end of the century my students' kids will live in it, sovereign and free." Truxillo said it's his task to help develop a "cadre of intellectuals" to begin thinking about the practicalities of how the Republic of the North can become a reality.
In the past, of course, wars have erupted when slates seceded from either parent nation -- including the U.S. Civil War to keep the
South in the Union and, in Truxillo's quick description, "the Alamo and all that" when Texas declared itself independent of Mexico. Truxillo said the U.S. Civil War settled the question of secession militarily but not in a legal sense. States do have the right to secede, he maintained, if — as was untrue in the 1860s — the. rest of the country is willing to let them go.
Professors asked for comment in other departments at UNM were skeptical that politics alone would find a way to make his proposed new nation possible. But, they said, given 100 more years — well, who can say for sure?
"How realistic is it? That's one of the key issues," Truxillo said. "It's not unfeasible as a premise — and a realistic possibility when you consider global geopolitical trends. It could happen with the support of the U.S. government."
[Note: If liberals are in pow'er, they'll support it.-Ed]
"We will one day be a majority and reclaim our birthright by any means necessary — and we shouldn't shy away. Among native-born American Hispanics, there is the feeling that we are strangers in our own land," he continued. "We remain subordinated. We have a negative image of our own culture, created by the media. Self-loathing is a terrible form of oppression. The long history of oppression and subordination has to end. There has to be an alternative." Truxillo said. "Southwest Chicanes and Norte-o Mexico nos are becoming one people again."

QUIETLY, STATE DEPT. TURNS OVER AMERICAN ISLANDS TO RUSSIA
By Stephan Archer
In recent years several U.S. islands have been ceded lo Russia and other countries, without congressional approval or public debate.
These islands, many uninhabited, are significant because they hold potential mineral, gas. oil and fishing rights — not to mention potential strategic military value.
The islands in the Bering Sea make up the westernmost point in Alaska's Aleutian chain and include Copper Island, Sea Otter Rock and Sea Lion Rock. These islands together have more square mileage than the states of Rhode Island and Delaware combined.
Though the United States had staked claim to these islands for more than a century, the State Department has been anxious to turn them back to Russia.
The transfer would have gone unnoticed were it not for State Department Watch, a Washington-based group that monitors State Department activities.
Retired U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Carl Olson, who heads State Department Watch, recently checked with the Census Bureau, asking if it had plans to count the inhabitants of these disputed islands in the current census. The answer is no, since the State Department says they belong to Russia.
BACKGROUND CHECK FOR AMMO PURCHASES
LOS ANGELES (APBnews.com) - The city's police commission has voted unanimously to support a proposed ordinance that would require criminal background checks for buyers of gun ammunition.
The new ordinance is the latest in a series of city gun control measures in Los Angeles, which banned the sale of so-called cop-killer bullets in 1996. And last year, a limit of one gun purchase per person per month was imposed; gun magazines capable of accepting more than 10 rounds, or capable of being modified to accepted more than that, were banned.
Opponents of gun control were quick to criticize the ordinance, written by City Councilman Michael Feuer. They cited the unrestricted availability of ammunition in surrounding cities that have not yet proposed such a law.
"It's not going to do anything to decrease crime," said Rob Kahn, proprietor of B & K Gun Sales in North Hollywood. "How could this make any difference, when it's legal to buy ammunition through the mail and in any other city? Criminals will just go to other places to buy their ammo."
COLT'S FACES HARD TIMES
Colt's Manufacturing Co. is once again facing the possibility of bankruptcy. On the heels of dramatically reducing its commercial offerings, Colt's is now cutting back on its much-heralded "smart-gun" development.
Steven Sliwa is no longer with the company. He was for a short time president of Colt's, before leading Colt to push ahead the "smart-gun" concept. That effort floundered.
The cash-strapped company, reportedly. has been attempting to sell Saco Defense Systems. Industry experts say Colt's seems destined to "put itself out of business".
BAD NEWS ABOUT PRESIDENTIAL POWER
WorldNelDaily has published an ominous report pointing out the disturbing truth that President Clinton doesn't need to sign an executive order to start a full-scale gun grab. He doesn't need to declare martial law if he wants to use the armed forces to deal with public unrest. He doesn't need a governor's request to use troops to enforce federal laws in rebellious states. As IWD's Sarah Foster reported, "He can do all these things on his
own, without seeking advice or approval from Congress."
Those were the disturbing findings of a study by Virginia attorneys Olson and Woll at the request of Gun Owners of America.
If Larry Pratt, the executive director of the organization, was looking for some encouragement in his fight against onerous federal gun-grabbing laws and executive orders, he had to be disappointed.
"What they discovered," said Pratt. "was [that] the president doesn't have to sign an executive order. He already has the power to go after our guns."
"We had no idea that his powers were so broad," said Olson. "The fact that there are these vast standby statutory powers is shocking. I'm afraid Congress keeps passing the laws that grant this power and never stands back and asks, 'What have we done?' It's time that they start looking and asking."
The statutes referred to are found in Title 10 of the U.S. Code, which deals with the armed forces. Through them the president is given authority to intervene with military force in a state's domestic disputes, upon request from the state legislature or governor — or without it.
Olson and Woll discovered that the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 1863 that the president can unilaterally decide whether an insurrection is in effect and determine how much force is necessary to suppress it. He can "brand as belligerents the inhabitants of any area in general insurrection."
Equally shocking as the fact that the president can use the military against civilians. is the fact that former presidents have done so on "many occasions" — none of them declaring martial law.
ANY HOPE FOR GENERATION Z?
Mark Twain once said, "Don't let your schooling get in the way of your education."
Maybe he had a futuristic vision of where formal education was heading in his time. Here are just a few excerpts taken from your children's textbooks. These, and many more examples can be found in None Dare Call It Education by John A. Stormer. Liberty Bell Press, 1998:
"Develop a skit based upon the need to redistribute land. The main characters should be wealthy landowners, landless farmers, and government officials. Let each explain how the redistribution would affect them. and have each suggest possibilities of solving the problem so all would benefit." —From a high school geography textbook. Land and People (Scott Foresman)
"The United Stales has increasingly curbed the selfish and provided for the welfare of the many. The Government has established the Children's Bureau to look after the welfare of every child bom in America." —American Government (F. A. Magruder)
"...ask students whether they would consider going to a dentist-.-or use a doctor who practiced medicine as it was practiced in the thirteen colonies? ...ask them how they manage to live under a United States Constitution that is 200 years old. Is that Constitution as out of date as the dental and medical techniques of 200 years ago?"
—American Government (McGraw-Hill/Webster)
"The Constitution is not a rigid document. Because of imprecise language in some sections, it is open to interpretation. Most historians feel that this more of a strength than a weakness. A level of interpretation is ensured, while another level can be interpreted by successive generations...By the unofficial [change] method is meant the Supreme Court's interpretation...which differs sometimes depending on the views of the new justices."
— A More Perfect Union (Houghton-Mifflin, 8th grade textbook)
''Because of sickness- accidents, and occasional unemployment it is difficult or impossible for a laborer who has reared a family to save from his meager wages. And it is more just to place all the burden of supporting those who have been unfortunate, or even shiftless upon everybody instead of upon some dutiful son or daughter who is not responsible for the condition." — American Government (Magruder)
"Stress that whether a specific action is right or wrong depends on the meaning that a given group attaches to the action. — Around Our World, Teacher's Edition (Houghton-Mifflin. 6th grade social studies textbook)
"In the 1920s, many Americans were excessively nationalistic and tolerantly patriotic...The official (Ku Klux) Klan literature reflected the average middle class in its assertions of '100 percent Americanism.'"
—The United States: Experiment in Democracy (Craven and Johnson)
"Since the dawn of history, human beings and other (particularly social) animals have regulated their reproduction...Thus valuable energy lias not been spent on offspring that are not likely to survive...Induced abortion is probably the oldest human birth control method known. Abortion was accepted, and fairly common in the United States and Europe until the early Nineteenth century...Religious and ethical opposition did not develop until some time later. - Biology II (Rinehart & Winston)
JURY POWER
"The purpose of a jury is to guard against the exercise of arbitrary power — to make available the commonsense judgment of the community as a hedge against the over-zealous or mistaken prosecutor and in preference to the professional or perhaps overconditioned or biased response of a
judge." — Justice Byron White, Taylor v. Louisiana. 419 US 522
STONE MOUNTAIN MUST BE ON THEIR LIST
"Civil-rights" warlords are on the prowl in the Southern stales. They want to obliterate all traces of the Confederacy from the state houses and capitols of every former Confederate state. South Carolina was first-Now Virginia is starting to feel the heat.
Virginia members of the NAACP aren't content to have February as Black History' Month. At the urging of national leaders, the state NAACP plans to take a stronger stand against Virginia's Confederate History Month, which is even' April. Last year, they campaigned to remove a portrait of General Robert E. Lee from a city-sponsored mural. And earlier this year, the Richmond City Council voted to change the names of two bridges, which had been named after Confederate generals, to commemorate civil rights leaders.
But that's not all- The latest demand comes from Richmond City Councilman Sa'ad El-Amin- who wants Monument Avenue, a street lined with statues of Confederate war heroes, to be "privatized"—he wants the street to no longer draw public funding. He told The Washington Times. " Monument Avenue is on my list of targets. We'll have to dismantle this whole Confederate infrastructure because it glorifies slavery."
There you go. It's a "scorched-earth" policy. "Civil-rights" warlords want to wipe the Confederacy from the face of the earth. Nothing less will satisfy them.
But will "privatizing" Monument Avenue and erasing the memory of Robert E. Lee magically solve all of the problems of the black community? Will it spur black students to perform in school to the best of their capabilities? Will it remedy the culture of predatory violence and sex that seems to permeate the urban black youth today? No. But it'll make great headlines. That's what matters more to organizations like the NAACP.
Oh ... by the way. Just how long before the protests start over Stone Mountain? Probably as soon as the Georgia flag flap is over.
Ed.: There comes a time when any organization, even the NAACP, must examine itself as to whether it is doing anything beneficial; otherwise, in time it could outlive its usefulness.
Is the unmasking of "racism" in the stone statues of Confederate generals the only task left undone by the NAACP, or are NAACP members themselves succumbing to the virulent racism manifested by those who Hate Whitey?
To our knowledge the NAACP has never condemned the views expressed by the following speakers. Warning. Some
of the following quotes contain gutter language:
Walter Mosley (President Clinton's favorite mystery writer, in his novel): "Dad?" "Yes?" "Why do black men always kill each other?" (Long pause.) "Practicing." After repeating these lines to hint, I ask. "You mean, practicing to kill whites?" He smiles that crooked half-smile- again, nods and says, "Yup."
Susan Son tag (intellectual, representative of elite, white anti-white racists): "The truth is that Mozart. Pascal, Boolean Algebra, Shakespeare. parliamentary government, baroque churches, Newton, the emancipation of women. Kant, Marx, and Balanchine ballets don'/ redeem what this particular civilisation has wrought upon the world. The while race is the cancer of human history."
Louis Farrakhan (Islamic religious leader): "The Titanic was a great ship, but is was captained by one depicted as being arrogant, and warnings of an iceberg were not heeded. America is like that great ship. Unfortunately, at the helm may be a proud captain. And black people could become the iceberg that causes the sinking of this great ship called the United States of America."

ARE GUNS USEFUL FOR DEFENDING AGAINST TRYANTS?
"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? ... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!" — The Gulag Archipelago, A. A Stone Cold Police State in America
CALLING FOR A FULL INVESTIGA TION INTO THE DEATH OF CARL GHIGLIOTTI
Mr- Speaker, Carl Ghigliotii, the 42-year-old scientist who investigated the Waco massacre, whose body has been missing for two weeks, was found dead.
Ghigliotti is the man who flat out said, -The FBI is lying about Waco. The FBI did fire automatic weapons into the burning building."
Something is wrong here, Mr. Speaker. Records now show the FBI lodged an alleged or false child abuse charge against the Davidians. The FBI denied, then admitted, using tear gas. The FBI confiscated, then supposedly lost vital autopsy evidence that would prove what happened in Waco.
Beam me up- We have developed a stone cold police state in America, believe me. from Waco, Ruby Ridge, to Miami, Florida. Every American knows it. no one is doing anything about it. There must be a full investigation into the death of Carl Ghigliotti.
I yield back the need to pass some oversight on this Justice Department and pass my bill. H.R. 4105.

TIME TO CALL IT QUITS?
"Current congressional consideration of a $1.7 billion military-aid program for Columbia is the most recent escalation of the U.S. government's war on drugs with a total federal budget of over $250 billion since 1980...
The results have been dismal. ... A policy failure this spectacular would normally call for rolling heads or at the very least a congressional hearing. But instead of questioning a course that is steering us onto the rocks- we're about to push the throttles to flank speed. No eradication or interdiction program in the past 35 years has had any serious impact on the supply of illegal drugs in the U.S. The National Drug Intelligence Center now reports marijuana is cultivated in every state in the union.' —Columnist Kevin B. KILL THE BRAIN, SAVE THE BODY
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (APBnews.com)
Inmates executed by lethal injection in Florida someday may be able to donate their organs for transplant under a proposal by a slate legislator who says the plan would allow some good to come of executions.
Rep. Bill Andrews, R-Delray Beach. introduced the bill in the state House of Representatives last month, not long after Florida changed its method of execution. Electrocution destroys internal organs, but lethal injection leaves them available for transplant.
"The idea for this bill came from a surgeon friend of mine that suggested we try to make something good come out of the executions," Andrews told APBnews.com. "Some people have the horrible image of a murderer that can do no good in their mind. and we have to look at them with a different perspective."
Florida currently has 368 inmates on its death row in the state prison in Starke.
House Bill 999. An Act Relating to Anatomical Gifts by Capital Defendants.
would give inmates a new choice for execution- although the drugs that might make it possible are not yet available. A drug would be administered that would slop all brain functioning, while the cardiopulmonary system would continue to work until organ recipients could be found.
Ed-: Does this mean that a "stay of execution" in the future will not depend on legal appeals but availability of an organ recipient? Imagine an execution being delayed a few hours because the recipient got caught in a traffic jam while in route to the hospital-That's cold—real cold- Maybe the Feds will expand the program to solve the militia and patriot "problem."
Cop Says, "Guns Saved My Life"
"I'm retiring after 27 years in law enforcement. I would not be here today if some hunters didn't stop and help my partner and myself 27 years ago. We were surrounded by a large crowd that didn 't want us to arrest their dirt bag friend. The hunters were driving a Jeep CJ-7, had a dog and shotguns. The' crowd dispersed when they saw them slopping to give aid to us. I'll never forget their words: 'You boys need some help?' Gun control is people educated on how to handle firearms not, disarming them. "
AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL
By Judge Roy Moore [Note: Judge Moore was recently sued by the ACLU for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom. After a lengthy appeal process the case has been dismissed and the Ten Commandments remain on display. Seeing what our country has becoming Judge Moore wrote this version of "America The Beautiful."'] *********
America the Beautiful, or so you used to be. Land of the Pilgrims' pride, I'm glad they'll never see
Babies piled in dumpsters. Abortion on demand. Oil, sweel land of liberty, your house is built on sand.
Our children wander aimlessly, poisoned by cocaine. Choosing to indulge their lusts, when God has said abstain.
From sea to shining sea- our Nation turns away From the teaching of God's love and a need to always pray.
So many worldly pastors tell lies about our Rock. Saving God is going broke so they can fleece the flock.
We've kept God in our temples, how callous we have grown. When earth is but His footstool and Heaven is His throne. We've voted in a government that's rotting at the core. Appointing Godless Judges who throw reason out the door.
Too soft to place a killer in a well-deserved tomb. But brave enough to kill a baby before he leaves the womb.
You think that God's not angry that our land's a moral slum? How much longer will He wait before His judgment comes? How are we to face our God from Whom we cannot hide? What then is left for us to do, but stem this evil tide?
If we who are His children will humbly rum and pray. Seek His holy face and mend our evil way. Then God will hear from Heaven and forgive us of our sins. He'll heal our sickly land and those who live within.
But America the Beautiful, If you don't, then you will see, A sad but Holy God withdraw His hand from thee. AMEN!
Not a Priority
By the latest count, about 330 languages are spoken in the U.S. And more and more immigrants, speaking diverse languages, are demanding that U.S. society deal with them in their native tongues, authorities report. Those expectations are placing heavy additional burdens on institutions ranging from courts to hospitals, local governments and especially schools.
o The number of limited-English-proficient students enrolled in public and non-public schools more than doubled between 1986 and 1997 - from 1.554,000 to 3,452,000.
o Legal-aid agencies are increasingly suing government social service agencies — charging that non-English-speaking persons are denied job training and services.
o Yet substantial numbers of immigrants feel no particular urgency to leam English — since they can form language enclaves, tune in to ethnic television programs- or even purchase special radios tuned to foreign language broadcasts.
o There is a boom in interpreting and translating services and the "language translation market" is expected to grow from $1I billion in 1999 to $20 billion by 2004 -yet courts, schools, government agencies, and the translation services themselves contend there is a serious interpreter shortage.
The Supreme Court has interpreted Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act to mean people cannot be denied services because they speak a foreign language.

STRANGER THAN FICTION
While working at his parents' grocery store, Smitty Weston noticed a suspicious character enter the store at about 9:15 PM. The man approached Weston at the cash register and pulled out a large knife demanding money.
Weston reached under he counter and pulled out a pistol - which had a trigger lock-While trying to remove the trigger lock and stall for time, Weston began running through the isles of the store with the knife wielder in hot pursuit.
"I didn't hesitate," said Mr. Weston. "I started running up and down the aisles of the store with my gun in my hand trying desperately to remember the friggin' combination to the trigger lock. I ran down the soup aisle knocking Campbell's soup all over the floor. I saw all of those red and white cans rolling around, hoping it would stop the madman, but he kept on coming. Next I ran down the baking aisle where I was sure the Wesson corn oil would slop him, but he jumped over the slippery puddles and continued to pursue me".
After removing the trigger lock Weston noticed the gun was unloaded. As the knifeman approached Weston did a Nolan Ryan wind-up and threw the trigger lock at the crook as hard as he could. The knifeman was struck between the eyes and died instantly.
Due to the demise of the knifeman it is rumored that Senators Schumer Boxer and Feinstein have introduced legislation requiring trigger locks on trigger locks.

Military cut backs under the Clinton administration have reached a new low. Buglers, who are used at military funerals to play "Taps" for veterans, are so few and far between that Washington is issuing CDs with "Taps" recordings.
"With the downsizing of the military, there are fewer bands and fewer buglers. So the Defense Department has called in the reserves. Funeral 'kits,' including a CD version of 'Taps,' have been shipped to funeral directors and military bases," reported Newsday's Memorial Day edition.
A Pentagon spokeswoman said there have been no complaints. The feedback we have gotten is that folks are pretty happv with it.'she said." -
The accompanying photo showed an army sergeant playing "Taps" at a military funeral. He was in full dress uniform and standing at full attention. But his hands were unencumbered by any bugle. He was instead saluting as a CD boombox played at his feet.

All top three winners of this year's National Spelling Bee were ... gasp! ... HOME SCHOOLERS! How much longer do you think it's going to take before the American public rises up in arms and says "enough is enough" with the miserable results our union-run government schools are producing? it's just a matter of time before the failed public education system as we know ii goes the wav of the dinosaur. Change is coming ... ready or not. -email
